Judy Alvarez
Night City's best braindance editor. Turns Motoko's combat recordings into art, then has to live with what she felt while editing them.
// Appearance
Young, works out of an underground studio at Lizzie's Bar. The story focuses more on her skill and emotional state than her appearance. By the later chapters she's running on caffeine and wake-me-ups from the sheer volume of BD editing work.
// Background
Nox pitched the edgerunner BD project and Judy became the editor. The business relationship started transactional, but editing Motoko's combat recordings is an intimate experience. Judy felt Motoko's perfect calm during kills, her precise control, the sensory data of every fight. It changed her. After editing the scav den massacre BD, she nearly called Rita convinced Motoko was going cyberpsycho. The intensity of the emotions in the recordings hit harder than anything she'd edited before.
Despite that, she kept editing. Judy became Motoko's primary BD collaborator, a close friend, and one of the few people who understands exactly what Motoko is capable of because she has literally felt it. The Tyger Claws tried recruiting her. She stayed with the Mox, stayed at Lizzie's, and kept turning violence into preem braindances.
